Milky Way Galaxy

Photo taken June 21, 2013 at 4:00a.m. in Fredonia, KY
Nikon D90, Sigma 10-20mm, f4, 20 seconds at ISO 6400

This here is my first ever Milky Way shot...I'm pleased with how it turned out although it was a full moon night so the Milky Way was a little washed out. Even without the Milky Way you can see the billions of stars! It sure was a sight that I wish you could all see in person! I will continue to try to get a better shot in the future! Enjoy!

Hello friends, I'm currently on a week trip in Kentucky! Absolutely stunning landscapes and wildlife here! I will post more throughout the week so stay tuned! This particular shot has a story behind it...the Indians trekked through this cave during the Trail of Tears! An amazing sight to see and photograph! I felt very privileged! Enjoy your week everyone

Thinking

Photo taken June 8, 2013 in Ypsilanti, Michigan
Nikon D90, Nikon 18-200mm at 22mm, f22, 25 second exposure at ISO 200

I woke up at stinkin' 5:30am to get this shot...so you better like this! :)
To get this shot I set the timer on my camera to 20 seconds and ran over to the dock and sat as still as possible for 25 seconds! It took about 5 tries but I finally sat still...It was a peaceful, early morning!

Tranquillity

Photo taken June 4, 2013 on Ford Lake, Michigan
Nikon D90, Sigma 10-20mm at 20mm, f22, 20 second exposure at ISO 100
----------
Because of the 20 second exposure (having the shutter open for that long) this sailboat would be a little blurry because of the rocking motion...it took about 5 tries but the boat finally stayed still for a good 20 seconds allowing it to be sharper! I love the feel of this image...makes me want to fall asleep on the boat! By the way...those little white streaks on the right of the deck were lots of fish swimming around!

Eye Candy

Photo taken June 4, 2013 at Ford Lake, Michigan
Nikon D90, Sigma 10-20mm at 20mm, f22, 30 second exposure at ISO 100

An absolutely stunning sunset I got to watch and photograph yesterday on Ford Lake! For this shot I used my ND filter (black glass specifically made for long exposures) to leave the shutter open for 30 seconds, causing the silky, smooth water......Eye Candy! :-)
