This is one of the tactics of the Snowy Egret...he would shuffle/run across the water, and this caused the fish to "stir up" and move around. What a smart bird!

Snowy Egrets are really awesome looking birds and have a unique personality! They only stand about 2 feet tall, although in this picture he looks a lot taller! They will go fishing with other Egrets or Herons, in a small pond, marsh, or river. They stalk their prey by running or shuffling their feet, "flushing" the prey out into view. Expert fishers!

Investigating

Photo taken April 27, 2013 at Elmwood Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan
Nikon D90, 300mm f5.6, 1/640 second at ISO 1600
----------
I call it "investigating" because of the one fox on the left is checking out the bush, while the one on the right checks me out, and the one in the back checks out his brother sniffing the bush...*EXHALE* :) hehe! Enjoy! Last photo for today, but I will post more soon! Keep updated by subscribing through email or Google+

"Leprechaun" Bird

Photo taken March 8, 2013 at Detroit Zoo's Aviary Sanctuary
Nikon D90, 300mm f5.6, 1/1600 at ISO 3200
----------
Let me first say I'm not a huge fan of posting tons of photos from zoos, because to me, it seems like "cheating"...BUT, don't get me wrong, I LOVE to photograph any animal, anywhere! This won't hold me back from posting photos from Zoos though...I still will post a few here and there! Anyways...this little guy is called a Hooded Pitta. Its common in eastern and southeastern Asia and they reach about 16-19 cm in length! And of course I nicknamed him the Leprechaun Bird because of his color!
----------
I photographed him at the Detroit Zoo's Aviary Sanctuary, which in my opinion is SO awesome! They have tons of foreign birds flying all over the place in a huge, indoor, nature-looking area. Its filled with many many trees, ponds, mini waterfalls, and of course birds from all over the world! If you are in the area, visit the Detroit Zoo!

Eye-ballin

----------
This mature Bald Eagle finally decided to perch, after flying for what seemed like hours! He totally saw me and gave me the "Get away or else" eye ball :) ...Notice hes's been banded twice, one on each foot, most likely when he was a little fella

----------
The Full Wingspan of an adult Bald Eagle can be anywhere from 5.9-7.5 feet! Thats a huge bird, and if you've seen one in person...WOW, they are magnificent creatures! I was thrilled to be able to get some shots of a mature Bald Eagle! You can almost hear the wind, beating from their wings :)

Old Foundations

----------
Our family had heard about the famous Holden Beach Pier not to far from our place. It was a cloudy and rather gloomy day so we decided to get some shots of the Pier. Unfortunately the Pier was closed to walk on...not a problem! I was very pleased with how the photos from underneath the Pier turned out, even on a yuck-weather-kinda-day!

This was the first sunset of our vacation at Holden Beach, NC. the scenery there was just spectacular! The beach was aligned all the way down with beach-houses, which made amazing photo opportunities! I know what your thinking...photoshop...NOPE! The sky was really this misty and orange! I will post more photos of this sunset soon!
